Cara Ellen Modisett
Cara Ellen Modisett moved to Memphis in the summer of 2014 to serve as minister of communication at Church of the Holy Communion. A native of Virginia, she completed undergraduate degrees in piano performance and in English at James Madison University, and an MFA in creative nonfiction at Goucher College. She is former editor, now editor at large of the regional magazine Blue Ridge Country and was a reporter and on-air announcer for WVTF public radio for more than a decade. She has written the text for four books about the Blue Ridge Parkway and her essays have appeared in Still: The Journal, Braided Brook, Pine Mountain Sand and Gravel, Flycatcher and Artemis.
