Our Services

Sunday Mornings

The central act of worship at Holy Communion is our weekly celebration of the Holy Eucharist. Each Sunday morning, we celebrate the Holy Eucharist at 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The 8:00 a.m. service is a traditional Rite One liturgy, with traditional language and without hymns. The 10:30 a.m. service is Rite Two (contemporary language) with choir. Nursery care is available from 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.

Sunday Evenings

Taizé Eucharist
At 5:30 p.m. on the first and third Sundays of each month, we offer a Taizé Eucharist. Taizé is an ecumenical, monastic community in France, and the style of worship practiced there has drawn young people from all over the world since 1940. At Church of the Holy Communion, we seek to create a place where a community of people can experience Taizé worship and explore how to integrate its simplicity and serenity into their lives. Taizé worship is characterized by candles, peaceful chants and ample time for silent prayer.

Celtic Eucharist
At 5:30 p.m. on the second, fourth (and sometimes fifth) Sundays of each month, we offer a Celtic Eucharist. Our Celtic worship is drawn from the liturgical tractions of Iona and Northumbria in Scotland, and the music at these services can be contemplative, lively and haunting - even dancelike. The prayers are at once earthy, holy and inclusive.

Weekdays

In addition to our Sunday worship offerings, we pray the Daily Office of Morning Prayer at 8:10 a.m. each Monday through Friday in Quilling Chapel. These brief services from The Book of Common Prayer are built around recitation of psalms and readings from Scripture.

Wednesdays

  • 12:15 until 12:45 p.m. Holy Eucharist with Healing Prayers (No music; brief reflection by a clergyperson; prayers for all who suffer in mind, body or spirit; great lunchtime getaway)

Childcare & Children's Chapel

Child care is available on Sunday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The Infant & Toddler Centers are located on the second floor down the hall from the church offices and to the left. The Infant Center is for ages birth-2 and is in Room 212. The Toddler Center is for ages 2-4 and is in Room 213.

Offered at the 10:30 a.m. service only. When you see our children's banner at the chancel steps, children come forward to process to the Parish Hall for a time of God inspired singing, activity and snack. Later a member of the clergy delivers the gospel story and a time of prayer upstairs in room 309. The children return to the service after the passing of the Peace. All are welcome to join with our youngest members to share the word of God in song, story and movement.
